The SSYC assumes no responsibility for these events and all participation is at the discretion of the individual and the boat, which is always weather permitting. Please read here for more information about our role in these events. In light of COVID-19, competitive cruises should be undertaken within your bubble, there will be no gatherings before or after the race, and participants should stay within their home geography, not exposing or relying on small communities that are not your own. In all events, racing rules do not apply. Regardless of SSYC membership, all sailors should abide by the rules of Maritime Law and Transport Canada, referencing the advice and best practices of Sail Canada and BC Sailing. All participating individuals and boats are not to rely on the SSYC for any support while on the water.
