Great Bear Rainforest

In July of 2018, 3 Sea Sloth boats, and 8 Sea Sloth members met up in the Great Bear Rainforest for a week of cruising. It was the Sea Sloth Yacht Club’s inaugural trip and it was magical.

En route to Alaska for the summer, Vesi and Fernweh met up with F for Freddie in the protected bays of Calvert Island. From there, the crew sailed north and did all the things one does on this coast: sail under blue skies, dive in to mountain lakes, dance around beach bonfires, catch salmon, build a cedar beach smoker, blow away tastebuds with fresh crab, spot bears, drift with Orcas, pause for humpbacks, soak in hot springs, explore abandon settlements, disturb the peace with uproarious laughter, fix broken bits, and shrug off entertaining navigational errors.
